Solutions · Solar and storage

Solar and storage operations, from handover onward.

Find the issues worth acting on, prepare the work and check the result, with the systems and O&M arrangement already in place. Building a site, owning it and maintaining it start in different places.

Building a project

Building a solar or storage project

Who it is for

Developer, construction and owner teams preparing a site for commissioning and handover.

The job to be done

  • Choose applications while equipment interfaces and handover records can still be coordinated.
  • Hand over asset and measurement definitions, authorised interfaces, calculation versions and operating instructions with the software.
  • Name the owner, O&M provider, equipment support and product-support contacts.

First step

Start with one task. Keep what works.

  1. Pick one task the operating team will need after commissioning.

  2. Test it on real equipment and records, with normal, incomplete and stale inputs.

  3. Hand over when the people taking over can explain the results and know who handles exceptions.

For a first project, we confirm with you the available product version, delivery scope, usage rights and timetable.

Worked example

Lower output than requested is not always a fault

At handover, the team should be able to explain a result like this one: a discharge request, a controller limit and a reserve floor.

Simulated records for illustration.

60 → 40 kW
requested vs delivered, at the controller-reported 40 kW limit
32 %
state of charge, above the 30 % reserve floor
Hand over
if a source is missing or stale, the explanation is withdrawn

Roles

Who decides, who acts, who supports

Decides
The owner and its authorised people.
Acts
The O&M provider and site teams, under the O&M contract.
Supports
Equipment support and product support, named before handover.

How a result is handled

Chosen per task. Access to data is not permission to change records, work orders or equipment settings; existing interlocks and control responsibilities stay as they are.

Owning assets

Owning solar or storage assets

Who it is for

Asset owners and asset managers responsible for how their sites perform.

The job to be done

  • Compare performance under comparable weather, equipment and operating conditions.
  • Decide which unexplained output gaps merit investigation.
  • After an intervention, check whether output recovered or the issue recurs.

First step

Start with one task. Keep what works.

  1. Start with the sites, the work to improve and the existing systems. A planned use or a current issue is enough.

  2. Choose a performance, condition or maintenance application and return its analysis to your asset-management workflow.

  3. To judge value, add time-based energy records, prices, contract terms and maintenance costs. Power readings alone do not show a return.

For a first project, we confirm with you the available product version, delivery scope, usage rights and timetable.

Worked example

A deviation is not a root cause

An inverter runs well below a teaching reference. No curtailment is recorded; a site check finds soiling; after cleaning, the remaining gap is kept in view, not hidden.

Simulated records for illustration.

76 kW
against a 100 kW reference at about 800 W/m² (−24 %)
96 kW
after cleaning per procedure; −4 % kept as residual
No amount
costs, energy and settlement terms are missing, so no return is claimed

Roles

Who decides, who acts, who supports

Decides
The owner’s authorised people decide what merits investigation and intervention.
Acts
The O&M provider and qualified site teams.
Supports
Specialists for unfamiliar conditions or conflicting evidence, where arranged.

How a result is handled

Chosen per task. Access to data is not permission to change records, work orders or equipment settings; existing interlocks and control responsibilities stay as they are.

Maintaining sites

Maintaining solar and storage sites

Who it is for

O&M providers and site teams serving one or many sites.

The job to be done

  • Prepare site teams before they travel: records, checks and maintenance information in one place.
  • Feed results into your own work-order or monitoring platform.
  • Follow each job through to a documented result.

First step

Start with one task. Keep what works.

  1. Pick one recurring O&M task, such as an output check or a storage command check.

  2. Where your CMMS holds the work order, keep it there and link the analysis and follow-up to it.

  3. Align product support, intervention authority and field work with the existing O&M contract.

For a first project, we confirm with you the available product version, delivery scope, usage rights and timetable.

Worked example

Match the records before blaming the equipment

Inverter, weather and maintenance records are matched to the same equipment and time window. The maintenance lead approves the field check; results are compared under the same conditions.

Simulated records for illustration.

−24 %
deviation at matched irradiance, before the site check
Soiling
found on site and cleaned per procedure
−4 %
residual, kept under observation

Worked example

Check the command, the limit and the state

Storage review checks authorised instructions, state of charge, reserves, limits and actual execution.

Simulated records for illustration.

40 kW
output at a reported 40 kW limit: consistent, not a fault
20 kW
unexplained output: a new check record for the responsible party

Roles

Who decides, who acts, who supports

Decides
The owner or entitled party sets what may change; the maintenance lead approves field checks.
Acts
Qualified site teams carry out the assigned observations and procedures.
Supports
Specialists for unfamiliar conditions or conflicting evidence, where arranged; Be Water supports its products.

How a result is handled

Chosen per task. Access to data is not permission to change records, work orders or equipment settings; existing interlocks and control responsibilities stay as they are.

What you keep, what gets added

You keep

  • Monitoring, reporting, control and work-order systems that work
  • SCADA, EMS, BMS and equipment controls, with their functions
  • The existing O&M contract

Added

  • Assets, operating conditions and calculations linked through Industrial Platform
  • Solar or storage applications for performance, condition or maintenance
  • AI Workforce for recurring preparation and follow-up (optional)

Nothing has to be replaced wholesale. Runs on site, in your private environment or in an agreed cloud.

Solar and storage need different methods

Solar and storage models and interfaces are validated per scenario. Existing controls keep their functions.

WorkWhat has to be judged
Solar operationsFind actionable issues under comparable weather, temperature, curtailment and equipment conditions; after maintenance, check recovery and recurrence.
Storage operationsCheck authorised instructions, state of charge, reserves, limits and execution. Lower output can be consistent with a valid limit.

Proof

What the team has delivered

There are no solar or storage customer cases on this site. The examples above show how the work runs: they are simulated, and they are not customer results or proof of a storage optimiser. The team’s related experience is industrial energy calculation and supply–demand coordination:

Delivered by team members at their former organisation. Results as reported in project materials.

Buying and support

How buying and support work

An owner and an O&M provider may buy for different work. Agree who buys, who holds the data rights, who may use the results and who acts on site. Buying software does not grant access to the other party’s data. Any outcome-based payment needs its own measures, evidence and terms.

  1. Discuss the first task

Which task, which records and systems, and who uses the result.

  2. Agree the plan and costs

The quote states what each part includes and what is one-off or recurring.

  3. Trial, check and hand over

The people who will use it test real tasks, including missing data and exceptions.

  4. Use and maintain

Your team works with the results; products, interfaces and models are maintained as agreed.

What a quote is made of

  • First connection and configuration
  • Platform operation and maintenance
  • Professional applications (licence)
  • AI Workforce (optional)
  • Site or specialist services

Using Be Water applications is a licence for an agreed scope, not a transfer of source code or proprietary models. Connecting does not change your rights to your data, processes, recipes and models.
